Previews are close, not exact. Google picks its own title and snippet, and each network can cache an old version. Use their debuggers to refresh.

Paste into your <head>

On WordPress? You usually set these in your SEO plugin (Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO) rather than the theme. Use this tool to write and preview the text, then paste it into the plugin's title, description and social boxes. To refresh a share, use the Facebook Sharing Debugger or the LinkedIn Post Inspector.

Questions

Meta tag questions, answered.

Straight answers about titles, descriptions and share cards. If yours is not here, send it to me directly.

What is a meta description?

A short summary of a page that search engines can show under your title in results. Google may rewrite it, but a clear one written for people usually earns more clicks.

How long should a title be?

Aim for 50 to 60 characters. Google cuts titles by pixel width rather than character count, so this tool measures the width and shows where yours would be cut.

What is a share image?

The picture shown when someone shares your page on Facebook, LinkedIn, X or in a message. 1200 × 630 pixels works well everywhere.

Will these previews match Google exactly?

They are a close guide, not a promise. Google and the social networks choose what to show, and they can change how they do it.

Where do I paste the tags?

Into the head of the page, or into the fields of an SEO plugin such as Yoast, Rank Math or All in One SEO. If a plugin already prints these tags, edit them there to avoid duplicates.

Can I upload my image here?

Yes, to see the preview. The image stays in your browser. For the live tags you need to upload it to your site and use its web address.
