Your QR code

Always test it. Scan the finished code with a phone before you print it. Use dark dots on a light background, and keep the code at least 2 cm (¾ in) wide when printed. The codes are static: they never expire and nothing is tracked.

Questions

QR code questions, answered.

Straight answers about QR codes. If yours is not here, send it to me directly.

Do these QR codes expire?

No. The code holds your information directly, so it works as long as the link or details work. It does not pass through a tracking service.

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no signup and no watermark, and you can use the codes commercially.

Which download should I use?

Use PNG for websites, documents and social posts. Use SVG for print, because it stays sharp at any size.

Why does adding a logo change the code?

A logo covers part of the pattern. The tool switches to the highest error correction so the code still scans, which makes the pattern a little denser.

How can I make sure it scans?

Keep strong contrast with a dark pattern on a light background, leave the quiet margin around it, and test it with a phone before printing.

Can I track scans?

Not with this tool, because it holds your link directly. To track scans, use a link with tracking tags such as UTM parameters and read the results in your analytics.
